Mobile Innovation Built on Titanium: Spinning Meals Brings You Meal Planning with One Tap

Now there’s no excuse to forego your favorite, healthy, home-cooked meals during your busy schedule.

describe the imageWith one tap, the Spinning Meals mobile app generates a list of meals for the week based on your preferences and populates a shopping list with the corresponding ingredients.  You can customize your recipe database by importing favorites from recipe websites or entering recipes manually.  Browsing by category or prep time makes it easy to identify the right recipes for the occasion.

Ryan Smith, Spinning Cook blogger and creator of Spinning Meals, recognized the importance of promoting in-the-home cooking through simple, tried-and-true recipes. What started as an idea for a practical family cookbook evolved into an animated mobile app with a patent-pending planning engine.

“A mobile app provides the opportunity to incorporate much more functionality than a traditional cookbook.  The core innovation of Spinning Meals is not the content, it’s the planning functionality that reduces the process of choosing meals, and making a grocery list to a single tap.  People have found this really helps them eat well at home despite their busy schedules,” Ryan says.

The next revision, due to hit Apple’s App Store later this month, will leverage Appcelerator’s Cloud Services for social media posting and synchronization of configuration tables. In the future, full synchronization of recipes will evolve the meal planning process into a multi-device user experience. Users will be able to reference the app’s shopping list from the iPhone while grocery shopping, and then pull up the corresponding recipes on their iPad when they’re cooking in the kitchen.

I upload my healthy meal selections to this app and then use it for selection because sticking to a diet can be a challenge, but I want to make it fun and interesting.

Ouch, another paid app! Without a trial period.

No can do! Sorry.
